Making two tax systems work as one.
Sofia leads Corwell’s tax planning team of nine across Singapore, London and New York, and helped set up our Singapore office in 2015. She advises internationally mobile families — many of them Americans in Asia and Europe — on residency, cross-border tax and planning around a move.
Sofia started her career in the international tax practice of an accounting firm in Madrid, then joined Corwell’s New York office in 2011. She has since worked with families in twelve jurisdictions, from relocations to London and Singapore to the return home that is often harder to plan than the move abroad.
She writes about cross-border tax, residency and planning for families in Asia, and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and conversational Mandarin. Outside work, she hikes in Southeast Asia and cooks for far too many friends.
