We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join the 30-month delivery of the Riverside Bridge in Sacramento — a 1,480-foot main span of segmental box girders on drilled shafts, built inside strict river work windows.
You’ll be part of a site team of 35, working with VP of Design-Build & Engineering Priya Raman and the project superintendent. You’ll own submittals, temporary works and quality records for the river piers and superstructure, with a clear path to a permanent role at the end of the contract.
What you’ll do
- Manage submittals, RFIs and shop drawings for drilled shafts, piers and box girder segments.
- Coordinate temporary works design, including cofferdams, falsework and form travelers.
- Plan pours and segment erection with the superintendent inside each river work window.
- Keep quality records, test results and inspection reports ready for Caltrans review.
- Track quantities and progress for monthly pay applications.
What we’re looking for
- 3–6 years as a field or project engineer on bridge or heavy civil work.
- Degree in civil or structural engineering; EIT certification.
- Experience with drilled shafts, cast-in-place or segmental concrete.
- Familiarity with Caltrans or another state DOT’s specifications.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at height and near water.

About the team
The Riverside Bridge team works from a site office on the river bank and includes engineers, carpenters, ironworkers and our own crane crews. Most of the team came from earlier Corwell bridges, and many will move together to the next one — this contract is a common way into our permanent infrastructure group.
“On a bridge, the river sets the schedule. Our engineers plan so we are always ready when the window opens.”
